I'm going to have to bug you for some of those seeds in our next swap Barb. :)
No problem.

Actually for anyone wanting to grow next year, you might want to wait a few months to see if any of the F2s (for lack of better word) produce stripes.

We'll know in about 2 months, I have 24 growing, but will transplant only 6. The rest will easily find new homes.

Wow, I am so impressed with this!! How neat, and I always loved when banana peppers would get the streaks of peppers in them. (But I kinda hate banana peppers).

So thankful someone is putting this in the MMMM swap, thank you! :)

It has been a spell, so I figured I'd open up the conversation again.

I have six well-grown plants potted up so I can bring them inside when the cold gets to MN in the next week or so. The plants have been slower to produce than the other bell line I grew this year, but delays getting things planted was my big issue. The plants all have very large flowers, as well as multiple flowers per branch. My largest fruit yet remain very small, so it will be some time yet before I get to see what the ripe fruit look like. I've also seen some of the double-tip leaves that others have been illustrating.

How are other Enjoya-seed growers doing?

I have 16 plants, looking strong except for 2, some now forming buds.
Most will be given away at my swap, but I will keep 2.

36 or so plants under lights

I caught a caterpillar at night eating leaves.
Bizarre, since the plants and containers have never been outside.

So has anyone got peppers yet?

ginger2778 November 1, 2016 05:06 PM

I have one forming. A friend put me on to a blog where they said they were getting only yellow, not striped fruits. 2 people said it.

slugworth November 1, 2016 06:07 PM

I suspect this might have been over at: https://www.growingfoodsavingseeds.co.uk/forum/main-forum/sweet-peppers-and-chillies/6906-enjoya-peppers

It is very possible that the trait is basically an unusual form of variegation, where chlorophyll isn't impacted but the end of the carotenoid pathway is. I'm looking forward to my plants ripening their fruit and to the reports of others.

I saw these in a health food store in august, but they were yellow and purple instead of red.Supposedly grown locally. The seeds from them never germinated.
