Dang Cole that stuff all looks great! I did 2 Dwarf sunflowers per 3/4 gallon pot. You think that will be ok or should I stick to one? I also planted some dwarf double profusion zinnias in that size, three per pot but now I'm thinking one would fill out a pot. Is Sweet Sue good tasting?

Sweet Sue is my favorite yellow tomato to eat. As you can see in the pic from last year, she will blush red when very ripe. Like many of the Dwarfs, production can be stingy, especially in bad weather, but yield is still better than some other dwarf varieties, like Wherokowhai, which I still grow because it is so delicious. Nothing that tastes this sweet is going to make a ton of tomatoes.

Oh, and about the sunflowers, I would stick to one per pot. Maybe more will work, but I have not tried it. They do have very aggressive root systems.

Yeah from what I read the pot size determines the size of the plant. I hope they transplant ok, after seeing yours in the 4' tall pots I like the way they fill it up quickly.

Oh and I will have to try that one. You sound like me describing Mr. Snow.

I have a hard time telling Sweet Sue apart from Mr Snow, but I think Sweet Sue is just a touch sweeter. They are both great varieties.

I'm sure customers will jump on them. I can see you left the labels in each pot. Why not advise the buyers to tie them to the poles, then write down the names of their prefered varieties and tell you about their likes or dislikes at the end of the season. Most customers enjoy playing their part in the game and will be glad to cooperate. They will come again in 2018 and ask if the same variety is still on sale. Besides it may help you with your selection.

From the looks of those beautiful plants......... you will be Sold Out.

You're right. My favorite customer today told me he lives in a retirement home, and that growing the plant I sold him last year was the highlight of his summer. He said they tasted like real tomatoes. We figured out it was Mano, which I happened to have again. He was very happy to buy that plant.

Awesome isn't it? I had a lady bring me a tag she had saved from last year. She was so impressed with that plant she came back to my market just to get another one this year. It was a Sunrise Bumblebee. I've noticed a few customers mentioning stuff like "have you heard of the bumblebee varieties? Man are they great!" I just smile and nod since I was the one that told and sold them last year.
