Thanks so much for the recipe Broken:yes:
I printed it too.... I have never grown Tomatillo's but all of a sudden I am hearing a lot of buzz about it. I love Salsa Verde!! I would love to swap out some seed with you for the giant tomatillo's. PM me if you think we could do business. |
I Googled it after my other post and couldn't find a variety actually named Burgess Gigante. But when I Googled just Gigante tomatillo, I found it at Burpee and several other sites. From what I could see, it was originally a Burpee variety.Whatever.
I'll probably give it a try as a bigger tomatillo is always nice.
Oh yeah...It appears I am senile. I did mean Burpee and not Burgess. Darn...somedays I just should refrain from typing anythign! |
Hey, no problem, I eventually found it.
I have the same problems with names sometimes. It will be on the tip of my tongue but I will draw a blank. That's why I make up a cheat sheet for when I'm at the markets so I can look up things when I have a brain fart. |
And the older one get's the worse it gets!
Hey, no problem, I eventually found it.

Brokenbar is correct
Realize this is a late post- but I agree- I have canned salsa verde and the vinegar in the recipe really changes the taste. Good to know that lime juice is an option.
