Gardena's components run on 9v batteries & draw very little juice. I use fresh alkalines every season & monitor each grow container with a Rapitest moisture meter every day or two, to make sure that everything's OK. The AC power here blinks off/on so often, I wouldn't trust my 'maters to it!
