Oh no! I am crossing my fingers for your tomatoes. Any starting to blush yet?

MissS February 15, 2017 10:14 AM

Blight? I hope that you are wrong with your diagnosis. Late Blight moves very fast and is hard to control.

Im pretty sure its blight ..black spots all up the stem black spots all over leaves ,leaves turning yellow and dying..it has been a mission cutting all the infected branches ..putting sisors in detol between each cut and trying to touch other plants and spread it ..ughh ..so dis heartning ... i think i got a bit to cocky and thought they would be sweet... i should have kept my asprin spray up but yeah...new zealand weather is really unpredictable...next year im definetly going to build a green house

Sorry about the blight mate, but a really nice little tomato patch you have there! My brother-in-law was a Kiwi (RIP), and the storied he shared! I hope your spray took care of it! But from the looks of it, you have a very impressive yield of tomatoes- very high germination rates!

Cheers!

hey sorry to hear that mate , yeah nah they are looking pretty gone ... just keeps spreading and getting more black ...its all good tho cuz i got heaps of broccoli, brussels, cucumbers booming so it helps out with the loss of the matos ...they were from a supermarket tomatos so i guess there not a strand that likes to be outside in the rain ...?

Looking good!

MissS March 6, 2017 12:10 AM

Look'n good and it looks like that you and kitty will be having a nice crop as well. I'm glad to hear that the plants have survived!

I enjoy growing Brussel Sprouts. They are a neat plant to grow. I far prefer growing them than I do eating them though........
