Once you see the wilting, the plant is done for. You could not have helped it.

Plant some new seeds immediately and you should get some squash from those plants. My plants always get infected but if I have younger plants growing then I get squash from them after the first ones die. I gave up trying to prevent SVB from infecting my plants. Nothing really works reliably.

I just plant seeds, wait a couple of weeks then plant more seeds. The first plants will produce some squash and then die. Meanwhile the second planting will produce some squash for you.

It's called succession planting and it works for me.
