We have a bunch of new striped pear lines to work on from our winter breeding nursery. Most will be grown out this summer and some will likely become "front burner" projects.

They look excellent Fred, congratulations! Look forward to seeing how these progress. Hard to tell with the photo, but are these in the cocktail size range at the moment?

This line is pretty small. Equivalent to a small cherry-sized pear.

We did get other interesting lines that were larger, one orange/green striped line was a medium-sized tomato.

Marzano Fire -- this one's available. Great Sauce tomato.

Nice Fred! Is the pear shaped cherry the "Red Cherry Yellow Stripes"?

Fred Hempel April 2, 2016 08:23 PM

No. I have not distributed any cherry pears. They are very early in the development process.

X2 on the beautiful and please send me a few seeds of those in your hand with my Red Jazz trial order. Do you think they would grow good in a greenhouse down here?

Sunrise Bumble Bee?

Fred Hempel August 19, 2016 12:39 AM

We have probably 20 red zebra-type hybrids we made to test this year. They are from that row. Don't know which one(s) it is.
