Yellow Morrow
Sorry for the delay in responding to this, I haven't been on the site in a while. My wife named it the Yellow Morrow in honor of her Grandfather. He grew this melon exclusively for 50+ years in Northern Alabama but never had a name for the variety. It has a darker yellow meat and is pretty sweet with a really good flavor.
I sent seeds saved from 2016 in last year. Let me know what questions you have and I'll try to be a little more prompt in responding.
Thank you so much! I’m planning to attempt to grow it here in SE La & now knowing that it’s a family heirloom I will give it extra attention!:)

Do you have a rough idea of DTM?

I would put the DTM in the 85-95 day range.

Can somebody please tell me something about Swoon tomato? The "search" function here gives a lot of links to "Swoon", but it's always the verb in the sense of "rave about something".

Tormato February 26, 2019 01:41 PM

Swoon - indeterminate, PL, pink, heart, 1 lb+, superb taste (9+, in my garden).

swoon - to faint/lose consciousness/to enter a state of hysterical rapture or ecstasy

And that is the verb that applies to all of us regarding Tormato... :?::shock:

Many thanks, Tormato, for this info! Do you know anything about its origin?

Here is what my dictionary days to "swoon":

Everything you mentioned + rave about something, LOL!

PS: Of course I'll grow it this year - who could resist after this description???

Tormato February 26, 2019 03:57 PM

I'll have to get that avatar changed, as the Chief enabler is on vacation until about October. ;)

I had someone else post the Brody for me, as I still haven't figured out how to do it.

Its origin is from a natural cross of Granny's Heart, I believe. I have several lines that I'm working on (PL & RL, pink & red, beefsteaks and hearts, maybe one globe). Most have exceptional flavor. "Swoon" and "Bacon Lettuce and This" (a PL red beefsteak) are the first releases.

Tormato March 8, 2019 11:45 AM

Enduro #1 - a Bill Jeffers custom cross, late midseason, semi-determinate, hot set, good leaf cover, red, very durable plant.

Many thanks, Tormato, for this additional info! I will reserve one of the best spots in my garden for this gem!

Clara,

Thanks for the link. Within it, I found a name for one of my next releases...
