We won't be able to attend the Swap this year.
Many of my customers that have preordered, want to pick up their plants on Saturday. Sales have been brisk.
Plants, started in Mid-March are now 8"-12" tall and a lush green.
We'll miss seeing all of you and the fine fellowship.
Maybe next year------.

Farmers Markets in Cincy

Terry, My friends from Hazelfield Farm (source for Hazelfield Farm Red Tomato) set up there on the weekends; I don't know if they have started this season or not. They come to the Norton Common's Market here in Louisville which is very near me. I can call and find out where it is for you.
Looking forward to seeing you this Saturday.

Thanks guys!! Barbee that was exactly what I was looking for. Gary.... If you have any Lincoln Adams, could you bring me one? I only got one to germinate and he is kickin' it.

Earl,
I will be attending. However I have nothing to offer. My seedlings have yet to be planted.
I had an unfortunate case of neglect. Last fall I fermented my seeds as I always do and set them in a discreet location. So discreet in fact that I forgot about them. It wasnt until a few months later that Meg my Sweetheart found them and protested quite passionately.
To make a long story shorter. Several didnt germinate. including Megs Passionate Pink. My favorite from the CHerokee Purple x Sausage. Hopefully it will show itself in one of the others from that cross that arent so stable.

Mark, sounds like you pulled an Earl. :-) If you want me to I'll bring my seedling tray [see my list], some potting mix, paper pot making stuff [I'll give a paper pot making demo], and we'll pot up whatever you want of what I have? Still plenty of time for the seedlings to mature enough for planting by first of June.

Oh, BTW, I've got an 8-10 lb. pork butt in the smoker being tantalized-infused with cherry and hickory smoke. I'll bring butt in the crockpot to keep it warm and pull it when I get there between 12 and 1.

See Y'all tomorrow

will be late

Jerry and Earl and all, Tony and I will be there, but will be late today as we have farmer's market until 2. We are going to skip out early from that if at all possible. We will see you then!

I had a great time at the plant swap!
As usual, everyone is so friendly and so willing to share. The plants were gorgeous, the food was great. The weather.....well, we won't discuss the weather ;)

Time now to get those maters growing and ready for eating!

Hello everyone! I have missed seeing y'all. It's good to see pictures of the gang at CHOPTAG. The children were asking about you and hoping to get to see you again.

Life was turned upside down for us, and we haven't quite recovered yet. Our 6th baby was born on 2/17 and on 2/23 I had an aneurysm and almost died. I was air-lifted to Good Sam where I spent 2 weeks. So, anyway, my garden and seeds were all late getting started, BUT they did eventually get started and we are almost back to normal. I do so hope to make it to the Taste Fest in August.

Y'all take care and I hope your gardens are very productive this season! :-)

I am glad to be hearing from you Miss_Mudcat. Most people that have aneurisms like that do not survive. Someone must have known that you didn't have time for all that and you needed to plant your garden! Hope you are feeling ok now?:o
