Ribbed gourd (a.k.a. ridge gourd)?

It grows on a vine like a cucumber. It is about cucumber size.

Then I'd say it's a weird cucumber. Have you tasted any of these yet?

Do a web search for "Chinese Okra", a.k.a. luffa... which is what is pictured in the photo. It is a vining, climbing member of the gourd family, eaten like okra when young. I grew it when I lived in San Diego, but it doesn't grow well where I live now.

I think you guys are right about it being a luffa, apparently they do eat them when they are young in India... Which is where the seeds came from.

And the peppers keep coming...

It's supposed to be a Yellow Monster, doesn't quite look like the pictures in seed catalogs, but a good pepper none the less.

Spot on. When left to mature and dry on the vine they become the "luffa sponges" used in showers. I don't know any that grow to eat. Very cool plants.

This has been a very busy week and I neglected picking peppers. My daughter came a few days ago and picked herself a basketful. This is what I picked today and there are plenty still on the plants. The Golden Treasures are so heavy the stems are laid over the supports, I went ahead and picked a few of the still green ones. Hubby has eaten all of the cowboy candy and asked for more. It's too hot for me, I am going to grow a milder variety of jalapeno next year along with the MUCHO NACHO. My freezers are full of peppers which I am not complaining about.
Now to go pick some beans, they have been crazy good this year too. Going to grow even more next year. I think I really should start doing some canning. I'm a little intimidated by it even though my Dad and Grandmother canned just about everything imaginable :lol:

You need to join the canning club.
Green beans are easy just like hand loading the 30-06.
10 pounds for 25 minutes at 0 to 1000 feet elevation for quarts.
