Wasn't exactly sure when it was ready to eat, but tried one today. It was described well; fruity, meaty with not many seeds.

Since Brad said they have excellent shelf life, I will wait until the other one looks more like his picture.

heirloomtomaguy March 28, 2016 12:26 PM

Ooohhh my Lucid Gem lools awesome. I cant wait for my plants to set fruit and ripen up.

Could you please tell, how tall the plant is? Days to Maturity? Is there any sweetness?

MissionGardens March 29, 2016 03:00 AM

Looks awesome! I've got a hoop house dedicated to 18 (I think) of his varieties. I'll post pics soon. The Lucid Gem is looking great, mine aren't far behind. When did you plant?

The tomato is sweet and fruity; my husband thought the texture / coloring reminded him of a plum.

MissionGardens - 18 varieties - Wow! - Keep us posted on your favorites.

I sowed the seeds early December.

Here is the whole tomato pictured in my earlier post cut up 2 days later. I think this is the optimal color.

Looks delicious!!! I shall, they're all looking good right now, the only issue I can see at this point is some aren't big producers. Big Sungold Select for example isn't producing near as much as Sungold did for me. I started seed on Dec. 11th so it sounds like we're not far apart. Ill try to take some pics tomorrow. :)

ginger2778 March 31, 2016 07:14 AM

Barb, that looks gorgeous and delicious. What a nice picture.
