Pepper seeds from Hatch NM
I used to have a site that sold peppers seeds from Hatch. I can't find it now. Does anyone else have any clue what I am talking about? This is quite vexing.

If you want actual Hatch NM located seeds, here's a source...
http://www.hatchnm.biz/ Frankly, Hatch has become famous for the name of this brand of chile, but the entire Rio Grande Valley has got really good chile all the way from Las Cruces to up north of Santa Fe. Sandia Seed Co and J & L Gardens have great Hatch type peppers. |
I don't know what site you mean, but you might try the Chile Institute.

I've been trying to think of the place that sent me a catalog each year,it offered all kinds of hot pepper seeds and fiery hot liquid stuff as well,so yes,I had to google it
https://www.google.com/?gws_rd=ssl#q=source+of+hatch+NM+pepper+seeds I think it was the Sandia catalog noted in the link and they also have a website but it looks like some other great places in that search as well. Carolyn |

I have seeds from a chili pepper wreath I bought in Hatch NM. They are small red chilies about 2" long and make great chili powder. From the seeds I've planted I've noticed two different chili's. One has peppers that point upwards and the other type hangs down. Both look alike. I'll send you some when I get my other seeds ready to send you. If you ever go to Hatch NM, you have to stop by Sparky's and have the best green chili cheeseburger in the world. It's right on the main drag, you can't miss it. |
I ordered a big box of fresh BigJim from the HatchChiliStore last year. I saved a
boat-load of seed that had great germination. We shall see how they do come mid-Aug. So far so good. (I still have lots of seed but want to see if they grow true...I think it is BigJimHeritage) |
Here is the website from whom I got my Hatch chili seeds.
They sell all the different varieties, along with fresh and dried chilies, too. Their prices and shipping charges are very reasonable as well. https://www.newmexicochileandristra.com |
The pepper that points upward is probably one of the "mirasol" types that is very popular here in southeastern Colorado.

Yah I never understood the hype. I think the fact that they are mild even when roasted helps. I need a lil bit of heat. I'll grow jalapenos until the day I die. |
Apparently you have never experienced a green chile cheeseburger at Sparky's in Hatch NM... They aren't made with Anaheims!

the same holds true about the green chile "slopper" served at Coors Tavern or Sunset Inn in Pueblo, Colorado. |
