Thanks attendees of the 10th Buffalo-Niagara Tomato TasteFest!

I would like to thank everybody who attended our TENTH(!!!) Buffalo-Niagara Tomato TasteFest and hope everybody had a great time! Thanks everybody who brought food too, and all the tomatoes entered! Remy will post all the results of the contest when she gets back online.

The top award, Best Tasting of All, went to Rob Cavanaugh and the variety Mexico. Some guy from Buffalo won Smallest Tomato.... you'll have to wait for all the official results, hopefully they'll be up tonight!

Thanks again all participants!

Hey Korney-
Thanks back at you. I had a wonderful time, good company, good food, great tomato contest!!! I never tried so many varieties at one sitting ever. Learned a lot, met a bunch of nice people, it's all good.

Susan:)

Thanks for the concept all those years ago, Korney. We haven't been as many times as we would like. Yesterday's event was fabulous!

Well, I hung out drinking wine and telling stories after the party so no posting last night...
Everything turned out great!
As Mark said Best Overall went to Mexico grown by Rob K. (Rob2006 here on TV)
Sweetest went to Sweet Aperitif grown by Tara Kolinsky
Tangiest went to Gallo de Summer grown by Tara
Ugliest was a BER Queen Aliquippa grown by Atticus W.
Prettiest went to a striped tomato which I forget the name of!! by Carina M.
Biggest was an unknown (probably Aussie) grown by Carina M.
Smallest was a tiny Coyote grown by Mark Korney
Norm Brown Award (Craziest Gardener) went to Karen Golden for driving from MI to come to the party
.
Susan, so glad you made it!
bluelacedredhead, Glad you once again made the trip across the border to come. And a special thanks to Bob for helping fix the toilet seat :)
Remy

I don't know what the winners get ,money, free seeds from you,a trophy or whatever, but know that I'm the one who sent the Coyote seeds to Mark, so if I'm due anything as a co-winner,please keep your eyes on him.:lol:

You get a Thank You, the BB-sized Coyote if it didn't roll off the plate, and a book, "100 Heirloom Tomatoes for the American Garden", of which the author is unknown or in the Witness Protection Program, it's a really great book, especially if you can't read-- it has lots of pictures!

Well everyone gets a certificate and a prize geared toward that category. Mark got a cute little salt and pepper set of a tomato and an eggplant. So he could technically split the prize.

As I posted on my Facebook page, it takes a REAL man to grow a TINY tomato!

I should look for 11x17" frames...

Thanks to everyone for another great day - and for the after party wine drinking. Although I don't recall Remy drinking much wine, I do remember her sending glasses of wine flying while 'talking with Italian arms.'

It was really nice to see some old friends and make some new news too!

, I do have talking with Italian arm issues.
So glad you were able to make it!
