White Powdery Mildew

Hi all,

My wife and I returned to LA from a trip to Arizona a couple of weeks ago to discover white powdery mildew taking over our African Queen, which had been our healthiest plant to date. After applying a baking soda spray with no luck, the plant looks like a skeleton, with virtually no foliage except for one branch. Still have nearly a dozen big tomatoes waiting to ripen.

I'm in a 40' garden plot in a community garden. It's my first plot and wouldn't you know, it's the only one which gets way too much shade throughout the day for tomatoes. I'll be switching, but I suspect that and an unusually humid/dewy few days while we were away is what invited the mildew in.

Is the plant a lost cause? Any way to save it?
