Lillian's Yellow Heirloom x Zluta Kytice (Multiflora)

Made this cross in 2016, grew it in 2017 but sadly I forgot to save seeds :?:
So, I am growing it again this year.

I think it is an interesting cross between one of the (in my opinion) best large, yellow varieties and one of the best multiflora cherries.

The F1 last year was a tasty, medium size yellow.

The goal is a medium (or larger), potato leaf, yellow multiflora with great taste.

Here is a picture of the F1 from today:

Good luck with your cross! I also love Zluta Kytice and I am always very pleased when somebody uses it for breeding to get a new MF variety.

I am told when multiflora hunting to look for leaves that are curled upwards at the edges. Zluta Kytice, and Rebel Alliance which has ZK as it's mother, both have the upward curl to the true leaves by at least the second set of true leaves.

Very interesting Marsha! I have not noticed that before, but never looked for it either. Will try to select for it in the F2's - do you think it is the same with PL's?
I have a few PL multifloras, but have not noticed it on them either.

If anyone would like to help me grow out some F2's just let me know. My own space is limited.

Ripe F1 fruits!
Tasty, and uniform in shape.

I loved the hybrid. Growing out just one of the F2 this year - got the typical ratio of PL to RL indet, decided to grow out a PL.
