I have one plant in the hightunnel and I agree on the foliage. but I have them ripe and they are a a good tomato. lime green inside. watch for the green change to a yellowy-green underneath and they will be softer to the touch than an unripe one.

Carolyn, I agree. I let some fully ripen for seed saving. The skin had more red to it than the pictures I shared in post #10. Letting them get to that stage (To me) was over ripe.

I picked a few today probably a little early, one plant is producing tomatoes twice the size of the grapes and they are more round. Ate a few ripe ones in the garden they taste really good.

One of the few plants that has performed well in the heat with cool nights in the
Catskill garden. Loaded with fruit and all are very dark. Barely thigh high and odd
foliage what little it has. Wish I had grown more than one.

I was out of town and it tangled itself in the chicken wire/bunny proofing cage. The tip
and two fruits broke off. Have not tasted yet...
If the tip survives I'll grow it out this Fall/Winter.

SO glad to see this thread..my Brad's Atomic Grape plants just look so thin, wispy and really sickly. I have tossed all but 1. I will keep it with high hopes!

I am so sad. none of the seeds I saved germinated. I had a lot of duds this year..

Barb_FL April 9, 2018 06:06 PM

HL - That's how they look; pretty wispy.

CL - I grew it this past fall; plant still going and reviving itself. I have lots of extra seeds if you need any.

clkeiper April 9, 2018 06:10 PM

thanks Barb. I probably really don't need it. I will just grow something else... maybe just maybe one will pop up in the seed cell in the plug flat. if so, thats all I need. if it doesn't I will hit you up for a few for next year.

Brad's Atomic Grape - was in the fermenting jar along with a couple other jars of seeds. A sudden storm happened and blew the jars over... I have no seeds to offer :( otherwise, I would offer some.

It takes me forever to type today.

thanks to you also R... I really don't need another one to grow... now want is different. I jumped in on the dwarf project this year and I will just put those out in place of the BAG.

clkeiper April 12, 2018 07:20 AM

one. just one finally sprouted.

Pick them when ripe=Awsum

I have a couple Atomic Salads growing also... We will see what they produce this year.

Update: the third and last seedling just curled and shriveled.. a bad replay from the Wizard of Oz... I guess there's always next year!

Excited to grow atomic grape this year. The foliage is wispy and annoying, but not nearly as bad as the mass amount of gilbertie paste I’m growing. Whispy, thin, and “sticky” as it seems to stick to other tomatoes foliage and rips.
