Very nice story. It is a medium hot pepper. My (Russian) grandmother used to have fried red pepper sandwiches. I don't remember any heat to them. I was very young and they were a treat.

I see those seeds are still available from Seed Savers online. Not my taste for heat but my local hydro store carries their full line- if you have trouble ordering online lmk and I'll make a run downtown.

I love roasting peppers with olive oil and granulated garlic and making sandwiches with them.My mother always made them for us growing up.She was from Italy.I passed them onto both my daughters.I'm growing some Jimmy Nardello peppers now and will give some plants to both of them so they can pass it on to our grandchildren.
