I cant wait for this! It will be my first time so I'm super stoked to see how this all works, and meet new people. I should have a few each of...

Ground cherry
Black cherry
Amish paste
Purple Cherokee
Early girl
Bull Nose peppers
Italian Peperoncini

I even have a few oddball herbs that might be ready by then. Is that ok to bring too?

HeatherBell April 23, 2013 01:29 PM

beatpoet... I have a few extra pepper plants if you are still interested. And dont feel bad I had a whole row of peppers that did not germinate this year. I've had zero luck with King of the north.

Lurley, Can you bring me 5 of your all time faves-1 each! Thanks...your list is awesome...don't know where to start to pick out!
Also-Does anyone know anything about Ishtar? I got a plant from the swap last year from and I remember liking it but cannot find my notes on it. I will try to post my list soon! Looking forward to seeing everyone! Amy

Jerry, if still avail...1 Thai Pink Egg, 1 Winsall and 1 Big Rainbow. Thanks a bunch!

beatpoet April 23, 2013 05:37 PM

HeatherBell: Yeah, I switched up my seed starting medium this year and I think that was a bad decision now. Started I think about 14 pepper seeds and only 3 popped up after 3 weeks, my tomatoes did better, but still not great. I'll definitely take a couple off your hands at the swap if you bring them.

Amy,

Got you listed for 1 Thai Pink Egg, 1 Winsall and 1 Big Rainbow.

Well we’re just a week away. There hasn't been a lot of traffic here but hopefully we’ll have a good turnout. I’m looking forward to seeing everyone.

There hasn’t been any mention food either. Deborah and I will be bringing some macaroni salad. Any chance of getting some of that banana cream cookie pie? Mmmm good.

See ya next Sunday.

HeatherBell April 29, 2013 06:53 AM

This will be my first time participating in the plant swap. What kind of food do people bring? do they need to be cold dishes? or can hot food be brought as well?

yrb April 29, 2013 07:53 AM

Bring any kind of food!
I need help with a description for Ishtar tomato!

lurley April 29, 2013 10:40 AM

If anyone is growing sungolds, I could use a couple (daughter's cat, rrrrrrr) and if anyone has Louisiana long green eggplant or golden marconi peppers, I had no germination on those.

Barbee April 29, 2013 03:51 PM

Lurley I can cover you on the Sungolds.
I'll bring green beans with ham and taters!

beatpoet April 29, 2013 05:11 PM

I think I'm going to make a dip of some sort.

Crispy Corners Guy April 29, 2013 11:46 PM

I'll bring deviled eggs and some kind of dessert on Sunday. Can't wait!

Tim

lurley May 1, 2013 07:13 PM
Once again it’s time to announce the CHOPTAG Spring Plant Swap meeting.

This year’s event will be held on May 5th from noon to 3pm at the new home of Tony and Amy Powell located in Northern Kentucky.

The theory is to bring your extra plants and give away more than you accept. That never seems to work for me.

But if you don’t have any plants to trade you’re still invited. You can easily make up for the lack of plants by bringing food! As we get closer to May 5th and you know what extra plants you’ll have post a list here and people can get a sense of what will be available. People have been known to reserve plants so post early and post often.

Remember that EVERYONE is welcome.

Amy's address is 2043 Moffett Rd. Independence, KY. 41051. Looks like it is just off KY 17 in Independence. I'll leave the actual directions to each of you.
