Eggplant and heat
I have a small greenhouse that I plan to setup next spring, it's a 6 X 8. I was thinking of growing some eggplants in the GH, but I do not plan an expensive ventilation system only a small fan blowing some air during the warmest part of the day.
How much heat can eggplants take? Dean |
IMHO, they can take heaps of heat. Way more than toms and right up there with peppers. They are heat-loving plants!

My egg plants have put out with temps in the shade of 113 degrees F.:?:
I know a green house can get way hotter than that but they can take the heat.8) Worth |
I agree, Eggplants can really take the heat and I've harvested very large numbers from individual plants. I don't have a ton of experiance but have had excellent results growing them in my hot and humid environment for the past two years.
