Rat wire? Must look out for some of that! My friend who raises chickens, uses Hardware Cloth and says it lasts a few years for her. I guess it depends where you live!

Depends on the quality of the steel and the galvanize they use as to how long it lasts.
Most if not all of the stuff from China is a cheap replica of the real thing.
No one has sold me on powder coating yet.
