Old Fashioned Snowball Bush
Can anyone give me any information on the Old Fashioned Snowball Bush that I remember my mother and grandmother used to grow down in south west Ohio, I think it was some kind of Viburnum. I have looked all over north east Ohio and can't locate them for sale. They remind me of times gone by. Any info would help also where I might get some plants. Thanks.

You want Viburnum opulus 'Roseum'. If you don't get any this year, ask me come the end of April beginning of May. All the extra rooted plants I had to share for this year are gone.

Thank you Starlight.

I have a huge one in my front yard. This pic was past peak blooming. I've had a lot of folks ask for cuttings so I'm going to try and root a bunch next spring.

Yours is really gorgeous. I haven't seen one that large before. They are really beautiful when they are blooming. I always wish they would bloom a bit longer. You might want to try and root some now. Usually they root best on the soft wood cuttings during the summer. Since you have a lot of branches that look like they might touch the ground, you might try and stake a couple branches to the ground and let them root that way too. |
