The Garden Is Maturing Fast!
The Silver Queen corn is going nuts with all the rain and the first silks are emerging. Yesterday afternoon a front was coming through and the wind was getting up. After I took the pic I decided to add another string as high as the tops of the t-posts on the downwind side of the bed. I’m glad I did as I had visions of corn bent in half at the lower string line.

Looking good! I use the strings around the bed corner posts as well. I usually end up with one line at the very top of the post and another one a few feet lower, moving up as the corn grows. We often get a lot of wind with storms, so roping the corn helps avoid a big mess of blow down.

Looking good. Gave up trying to grow corn because of racoons here in the Ohio valley.
