I've started it in diatomite.Nothing special yet just 2 cotyledons.

Levent, I'm very interested in this variety as one of my cousins is living several months per year on La Palma where she has a finca. Please keep us updated on this variety and if it's a good one, please save some seeds for me - I can send you a lot in return. clara

Clara sure I'll do!I read in a site on La Palma that it's a drought resistant variety.I plan to naturalize it here in my garden.Exciting project!

What's a finca?

clara March 23, 2013 06:59 PM

In Spain and on Spanish islands, a plot with a farm house is called "Finca". People from Europe like to buy old fincas - some are more than 300 years old - restore them and then use them in the cold months for living under warm Spanish sun; so do my cousin and her husband from October/November to March/April or even longer depending on the weather in Germany. And regarding our long, cold and dark winter this year (we are still having frost at night) I envy them!!! clara

Oh ! Sounds charming !

clara March 24, 2013 05:29 PM

Yes, it really is, because their finca is a very old one, now provided with every modern amenity you need for a comfortable life. It is located on top of a steep hill (must have been difficult for the former owners to do some agriculture) and from their terrace they have a gorgeous view onto the Atlantic! clara

It must be breathtaking.
