My weedy little garden...

Four unknown oxhearts...I thought they were Hoewlings but they don't mention oxhearts on their website, so it's just a heirloom tom from Harbor Greens market that I saved seed from.

Oregon Giant peas in blocks and some baby cukes in a pot with some tall pole peas.

My only purchased tom, a Sungold, and a helper.

'Nother helper...NOT!

A Bradley, a Black Sea Man, and two zuke mounds.

Two pepper plants with a Czech's Bush in the middle. I tucked some late onion starts in the cinderblock holes but I doubt I have enough season to get anything more than salad onions from them but that's ok.

Extra oxheart and two Black Sea Man.

In the bed...a Czech's Bush, a Bradley and some strawberries. Just beyond a gift grapevine and three tomatillos in the tub, and an extra oxheart in the bucket. Hopefully next year I'll be able to expand to the right where the boats are about ten feet or so. And yes, it's time to whack those weeds again. You have lots of cool stuff! I love the peas growing in the breeze blocks and the arbour is a nice touch because you can train your tomatoes up it! Great that you have it fenced to keep out the "helpers .

Looks very comfy and cozy. Organized, but inspirational. Please say 'woooof' to your four-legged companion from me.

I love your use of space. Your cinder blocks look a lot nicer than my plastic tubs! Enjoy your season :)

Thank you for the compliments. The arbor, posts, fencing and cinder blocks were here on the property so I didn't have to purchase anything but the smaller blocks for the tomato bed. It took a while to gather everything together. We just scavenged soil from some older beds and containers that DH's mom had for her garden years ago(native soil is clay). Still needs a lot of work though. I would love to have the whole thing(around the beds) heavily mulched with wood chips or gravel to keep the wetland weeds down. I even have horsetail popping up in the beds.

Hi NarnianGarden, my name is Rosie and I would rather eat cat poop than my expensive grain-free kibble! Nice to meet you!

I like your beds, thats how I do it: cinder blocks and lanscape timbers.

noinwi June 5, 2015 12:19 AM

The cinder block bed was the first one I put in. I bought that particular size because I wanted a specific size to the bed. Didn't think about off-setting them for stabilization and was almost in tears when I finished(didn't want anyone to help me)and it was all wobbly. But, DH came to the rescue and scrounged up a bunch of rebar with flat heads to pound into the blocks(you can see them in the second photo)...my hero!

Thank you for sharing. I could view pics of others gardens all day.
Especially if my employer didn't block all of my favorite forums.:x

I've always enjoyed looking at others' gardens also, Ted and have been greatly inspired.

Jimmy, it's still a work in progress but it's my 'getaway from the chaos' place.
