Folks, any idea what is causing this?

Capsaicin burns.
Must be hot ones.

Sorry no idea

My first thought was anthracnose since there's no damage on the leaves but it doesn't quite look like it. I'd remove the peppers and if new ones show the same symptoms I'd get rid of the plant.

If the leaves are clean anthracnose seems like the right answer.
