Netafim irrigation spikes - leaky barbs?

I think some of you guys use this particular system -i installed it to poly tubing using the supplied barbs & I have all kinds of leaks at the barb / poly tube ★★★★★★★★ despite using reduced water pressure compensation.

Any advice on how to minimize the leakage? I feel like a lot of water is leaking despite using a 5/32 in. drill bit (which is smaller vs. the supplied punch) still leaks?

Not sure why yours leak, I have a bunch going and have no leaks. Is your pressure over 35psi? If it is you need a pressure regulator.

I have never had leaks using another brand but they are all about the same and I have always used the tool to make the holes.
You my have a bad reduced pressure valve assembly.
These cheaper regulators aren't what you would call the cats meow when it comes to quality.
The only way to check it is with a gauge.

upon further reflection - i think i'll be fine if I simply drill smaller holes for the pilot - 1/16" should do it vs. the 5/16" that I drilled the first (leaky) time.

5/16 is way too big and 1/16 is way too small try 1/8 one website said 3/16.
