1st yr at heirlooms

I grow in raised beds 4x16x17in deep.I decided to grow beefsteak delicious,abe lincoln,box car willie,black prince,mortgage lifter,boniness best and suppose to be red brandywine potato leaf,but not sure. Hope to make my own crosses this year, no experience at this hope to get some good advise from some of y'all that know what to do .Hope everyone has great gardening year.

Those beds look nice. You'll want some extensive trellis support for the indeterminate heirlooms, or else it will look like a melon patch with vines everywhere.

Good selection, I have grown most of those, and Delicious was/is quite the strain.

They do look great! And if you haven't already, get whatever support system you've chosen in place now before they get much bigger. A strong wind can easily take them down at this stage. And, if you're using cages, they'll soon be too big to easily get the cages over the plants. Even if you're using stakes, it's never too early to get them I place.

You're off to a great start!

everything grows on string ,single stem.1st yr to try this there will b a lot of pruning,gonna b fun
