Pints or quarts?

How do you sell your cherry tomatoes? Pints/quarts?
And where do you get the pint/quart containers?

The most common sizes around here are pints or cups...

One farmer at my market uses crystal drink cups. Another uses plastic bags. Another farmer uses clear clam-shell containers.

I use plastic berry baskets that I sourced on eBay.

I'm thinking I need pint clam shells, maybe 300...

I sell cherries by the pint, in plastic boxes. I think we get them at the local grower's supply store.

Remember wooden pint berry containers?

I'd say negative on the wooden boxes. Most customers don't want the box. I just dump the tomatoes in a plastic bag and re-use the box. The wood will stain over time if you re-use them, as some cherries inevitably burst in the boxes. I make my boxes up at market and not the night before for that reason. Also, the green mesh plastic baskets will give the fruit 'waffle butt' if they sit overnight.

This is the place we get our stuff: http://www.southernfs.com/agronomy/Pages/Orchard-Supply.aspx

Stop by and take some plants if you come down. I'm overflowing right now.

At market, I dump the baskets into paper bags, and tell my patrons that I'll recycle the baskets.
