Brown spiny bug looks like a leaf hopper. But I have never seen that one before. So spiny!

You are right, the 2nd one is a lacewing larvae. Keep your eyes out for the lacewing eggs; so tiny, so cool.
That was my ultimate conclusion as well, which is odd since I have never ever seen one and it was in my greenhouse. I read that only certain tree hoppers are bad but if he was on a plant in the GH I assume he was sucking juices from it? Thanks for the help Nattybo!

Looks like a criminal of some sort but he had no ID on him when apprehended. Anyone know who he is?

Looks like a young wheel bug AKA assassin bug.
If so it is a good bug.

Cucumber flower, what are these? Baby thrips?

ginger2778 June 9, 2016 07:16 AM

They are indeed thrips.

Spinosad kill em?
Spinosad kill em?
I never tried it. I know pyrethrin or permethrin will. I think neem does too. But I would try a strong soapy water first, block out their breathing spiracles, rupture the wax on their bodies.

Well I already need to spray for caterpillars and the label says it kills thrips so I'm going to try it. Thanks for the help Marsha!

You are welcome. Please post how it did, I might add that to the arsenal.

Yes it will

To update it did work. Checked around 24 hours later and no sign of thrips and hornworms had either fallen or were hanging.
