Walmart Seeds

Just came back from some shopping and wanted everyone to know that the Walmart here has a display with American Garden Seeds for 20 cents a pack. They all say packed for 2009. There were three tomatoes I found even though I was in a hurry - Beefsteak, Large Red Cherry, and Rutgers. They had a selection of beans, zuchini, squash, radishes, watermelon, cucumbers, and ..... on and on. They also had a selection of flowers.

I commented to the lady stocking shelves that 20 cents was very cheap. She replied, "Last year, they were 10 cents!!"

I was surprised to see the full Ferry-Morse collection at Wal-Mart this weekend. Usually they just carry a very poor selection from Burpee. I mean... they had Sugar Dots corn from Ferry-Morse. That blew me away.

Yeah, Feldon. They had these cheap seeds at the end of the aisle with the Ferry Morse seed display and seed starter rack (Including Ferry Morse Organic seeds). The regular FM packets were $1 and the Organic packs were $2.

Our local Walmart has the same; also went to Lowe's; the had both FM seeds and Burpees. While at Lowe's saw in the bargain row 6 of those 3 or 4 shelf little greenhouses that had obvioulsy been stored in the store since last year. They were $5 piece, so I said why not. Like I really need them.
