Rugose Early determinate dwarfs Most satisfying

This is a List made up of Varieties that are 1)Rugose , 2)EARLY and 3)dwarfs . (O.P. of course !)

I have found This group is most satisfying to grow in small containers
(3 gallons or less ). By making this abstract list with no other leaf types
and no mid season etc. I have arrived at this list .

Mano
Kootenai
Krainiy Sever
Hahms gelbe
Geranium Kiss
Betalux
Bushy Charbovosky
Demidov
Cyril's Choice
Extreme Bush
Nevsky
Ola polka
Roza Vetrov
Siberia
Sandpoint
Taimyr
Yellow Pygmy
Yaponskiy Karlik

Rugose : (not my best results list)

Minibel
red robin

does anybody have any additions to this abstract list ????

Hahns Gelbe is a micro-dwarf. Yellow Pygmy is a step up in size from microdwarf, but not as big as other dwarfs. I have two Bushy Chabarovsky going in the greenhouse right now. They will be my first tomatoes. I transplanted them into five-gallon buckets, because they kept growing. It's a determinate, but it keeps growing new flower clusters and getting bigger.

Very interesting about the Bushy Chabarovsky

Oh ya ...I forgot

Alpatieva 905A

Utyonok

Volgogradskiy 323

orange pixie rugose /potato

Yellow canary

They are interesting for small containers and of course some are happier in 5 gallon + etc.

My Geranium Kiss tomato looks more like PL:)
Russian gardening forums said there are 2 strains of GK - with rugose and potato leaf.
Will see what we get here.

great Pix of the Potato leaf ...

when does a variety become an actual other variety ....and not a "strain"
?? LOL

I guess if the fruit size/shape/ colour/ and various time till harvest and relative size of the plant is the same .....it is a "strain " ... ???? if only the leaf type varies ?

There sure are a whole lot more "strain"s out there than can be followed

easily from year to year ......

So far this year my "Initial" best for this bunch (at this point in the season )

1) Mano
2) Roza vetrov
3) Betalux
4) Polish Dwarf
5) Yaponskiy Karlik
6) Red Dwarf / RoterZwerg (appears to be Rugose leaf and early fruit set)

The others are doing well and I Might change My perception

if these others catch up...etc.

Cyril's Choice
Kootenai
Taimyr
Alpateiva 905a
Extreme bush
Nevsky
Siberia
Ola Polka
Utyonok

As always the small ones Yellow Pygmy and Venus are doing really well .

The Larger indeterminate dwarfs seem to be a bit slower to get going in comparison to the determinate dwarfs ......

So the above "Early Determinate Dwarfs" are a welcome addition to the "dwarfy" garden

whilst you wait for the Indeterminate Dwarfs to kick into production. :cute:

and pursuit of 2017 year perspective .:cute:
