I don't think this is a garden pest, but I'm anxious to ID it- I found it in my drinking cup in my bathroom- (almost drank it-yuk!) The reason I'm nervous is because my next door neighbor is having his house treated for bedbugs! I've looked at images and it doesn't appear that it is one, but help would be appreciated.
I am really unhappy that we don't get emails any more when there's a reply to our post. By the way, his body was only about 1/4" long.

Stinkbug and they are definitely garden pests.

Bedbugs are almost microscopic.

Yep! Looks similar to the Stinkbugs we have in Wisconsin.
The first one found in the USA was in September of 1998 in Allentown, Pennsylvania

P.S. Allentown reminds me of a song (lots of things do)..

Agree with others. They tend to want to get indoors in the fall like lady bugs do.

I don't believe that is a stink bug, it looks like a squash bug.

I still think that it's a stink bug. Stink bugs are more rounded than the squash bugs which are slimmer and in my area they are a darker color, more of a gray than brown.

Interestingly, today I found a stink bug on the wall behind my kitchen faucet! He is now smashed and in my trash bag

Stink bugs are not called stink bugs for no good reason. Crush the bug and you will know if it is a stink bug. Sickly sweet odor.

Rhopalidae, or scentless plant bugs. So, pretty much the opposite of stink bugs. Lol
