Blossom Drop or Something Else?

3 Attachment(s)
One of my Crnkovic Yugoslavian tomato plants has lost and is continuing to lose its flowers always like the following photos show. Is this stress related blossom drop or something else?

First this happens

Then this happens

And finally this is all that is left

I think that you must be signed in to see pictures.

Indeed, if you added them as attachments. But, I think it's quite obvious I'm signed in since I'm posting.

Apparently the links to the photos in the original post are invalid. I have no idea why I can see the pictures but you can't.

I apologize for this. I will try to edit the original post.

O.K. I re-uploaded the images and corrected the URLs to the images in the original post.

I can see the pictures in Google chrome browser and Internet Explorer as well.

No pictures yet not even a link.

No pictures for me either. Says links are invalid. You can download free photo sizing apps and use those, then the paper clip on the go advanced post and get your actual photos to load rather than links. I size to 600 X 800.

No pictures here either.

Hi ginger2778:

Can you have another look at the original post? I have yet again re-edited and re-inserted the pictures.

If this doesn't work then I give up.

I see the images just fine and they look like exactly what has been happening to mine. I assume it is the result of the weather we have been having. Mine are in containers, not in the ground. There is lots of fruit set already so I am not worried. Sooner or later the weather will improve. I sure hope so as I do not want to contend with early blight too! Not all of mine are under cover.

Here's a good link on the topic.

All good now. Now to look them over. :)

I think it is normal blossom drop due to no fruit set, is it very hot by you? I do wonder why the pedicel has broken halfway.

Worth1 July 6, 2018 02:09 PM

Unless I see clear evidence of an abscission zone separation I'm not calling it blossom drop.
The zone is the little joint just behind the blossom.
Just in case you dont know what it is here is the link to what I am talking about and explanations why it happens.
It is also the place that trees separate their leaves in the fall.
