Blondkopfchen RL or PL?

I ask because Tania's has it listed as RL, but I found on some online article that it has both at times...depending on the strain. I got seed in a trade and it grew out PL. Any ideas on this? I have been trying to grow this one out for 3 years! The first year it was eaten, the second year it got mowed over by my hubby. I have a lot of anticipation.

Mine are both RL. It came from the seed sanctuary here, so I hope it would be correct, but who knows?

I hope you are successful growing it this year. I thought it was very tasty when I tried one last year and am looking forward to growing one myself.

Personally I wouldn't trust most varieties that were obtained in trade unless you know that trader and could contact him or her formore information.

There are some varieties where the first set of true leaves can look RL OR PL and then as the plant matures the true leaf form appears.. Which is why I never make a call as to leaf form until there are at least 5-6 branches.

Linda, I don't know what the situation with the Seed Sanctuary is now, run by the nuns, but in the past they have sold seeds for many crossed varieties, and this from someone from Ontario who visted the place quite a few years ago and bought seeds.

Too true! That's where my original PL "yellow pear-like" tomato plant came from! I called, years later after it had morphed into a yellow sphere, and they said they'd never grown any yellow pear-type tomatoes with PL.....

I don't know if the workers and seed-savers have changed, but there are new people in charge there now.
