I'm a spice weenie and have trouble with the Jalapeno's we grow. Wife loves them though. I picked up a pack of Habanada, a heat-less Habanero that I'm looking forward to testing out this year.
Otherwise, for me it's usually Carolina Wonder bell Some kind of Jalapeno Some kind of Banana Some kind of Rainbow/mix bell Eventually I'll branch out and start some different varieties :p |
Sweets:
Alma Paprika Feher Ozon paprika (comparing the two paprikas) Gypsy Jupiter Keystone Resistant III Warms: Ancho Grande Jalapeno M Mucho Nacho jalapeno (comparing the two) Big Jim Not doing any Maule's Red Hot cayenne or Korean Dark Green this year as I picked and put up an overabundance this past summer |

[/QUOTE] Good list so far. Six weeks before I start any peppers. Are you throwing your hat in the ring and growing extra plants for sale again this year or was last year's experience enough? I'd like to scale it up and give that a try sometime, definitely not this year though. |
I'm not sure yet. I may grow extras to sell on Facebook, farmers markets and maybe mail order. I've had a few people from up north asking if I would mail plants but I'm not sure about the packing/shipping containers.

Carry on |
I'll be starting my pepper seeds next weekend!
My list for 2019 - so far... Jalapeno, Cayenne, Rooster Spur, Biggie Chile, Anaheim, Criolla de Cocina, Onza Rojo, Fish, Peter Pepper, Hot Banana, Charleston Hot. |
It’s too early for me to start planting, but my list for this year is set
Aleppo Big Jim’s legacy Poblano Pepperoncini Slonovo Ulo Corno di Toro Dolce de Minervino I’ll be starting these mid to late February this year, last year I started waaay too early and had monsters before the weather cooperated and let me plant out. Of course that means I’ll have an early spring that dumps directly to 90 degree summer in April  |
