Christmas Lima

I grew Christmas Lima for the first time this season. I didn't have much success. I am wondering if it was due to the weird weather we had this season, or was it due to the fact that my season is too short or not hot enough. I am in Minneapolis zone 4b. I am wondering if anyone has grown this bean with success in similar climate. Wondering if I should try again, or try something different.

Ideas???

I'm in Zone 6a; I grew them for the first time this year, and we had a long, hot summer. They were so dog-gone productive that I figured we had enough for two years, and finally got tired of picking them and pulled the vines down early. This doesn't help you in any way with your growing season, other than maybe giving them another try in hopes that next years weather might be better. At least it tells you that they are prolific under good conditions.
