Ildi is a BEAST
Well, my plants have so far made it through the couple cold-snap days we've had here in Phoenix. Last night got down to just over freezing.
Anyways, of all of my tomato plants, my Ildi plant is definitely the biggest and healthiest.. and just cranking out the blooms! This is just a picture of a small section of the plant, showing two flower... I guess the best term would be 'spikes'? Basically, the plant sends out what appears to be a cluster, that just keeps spreading out and expanding. I've circled them in red and yellow. Those in the red circle extend from one initial branch/spike from the plant, and the ones in the yellow circle are from a 2nd branch/spike.... and they just KEEP spreading out and putting out more flowers. I've never had a tomato plant put out so many flowers at once! I'll see if I can get more pics later, but in addition to what is shown above, I see at least 5 other of these spikes starting to form elsewhere on the plant. |
It's a multi flora tomato. There are actually quite a few... Barry's Crazy Cherry, Rose Quartz...
Try Matt's Wild Cherry, if you really like picking tomatoes. |
I have a few seeds left from a packet 2014 date... free to anyone who wants them. pm me your addy.

Try Matt's Wild Cherry, if you really like picking tomatoes.
Yeah, I've actually seen and/or grown a couple before, including Matt's Wild Cherry, but none of them were as covered with blooms like my Ildi plant is. Actually, I was not really impressed by the Matt's Wild Cherry plant that I grew, although the tomatoes were very tasty. This Ildi plant is by far the most impressive multiflora I've ever grown. Having said that, I may try growing MWC again, and I'd really love to try Rose Quartz MF.. |

Zluta kytice will make you regret planting it, literally thousands of cherry tomatoes.

I think I have F4? seeds. I'm not sure though, so possibly. |
OMG. That is unbelievable. I'd love to see what it looks like loaded with ripe tomatoes and if they are delicious.

Never tasted ildi, I have tasted ZK, its very good and really loads up. The taste of RA is fantastic, great texture, beautiful brown heart shaped fruit with a few ridges, about 1/5 of those flowers set fruit for me, so yes, it was loaded.
