Reviving garlic for fall planting?

I was in Southern States yesterday looking to see if they carry any garlic for fall planting. They don't - but they had a basket of garlic that was left over from spring. Some of the bulbs lower in the basket had good weight to them. When I asked about the price the manager just gave me what was left in the basket.

I'm in Zone 7B so my ideal planting time is late October to early November.

Should I store the good bulbs in the fridge to prevent further drying?
Are there any techniques to try to revive half dry cloves?
Should I just stop being cheap and buy new garlic online?!

Any help would be appreciated. My garlic planting experience is limited to getting a bag of garlic seed from Walmart in the Spring.

If you want really nice garlic, you should buy some fresh cloves online. I planted old garlic from Tractor Supply one year and got only really small heads that were not really worth the time.

Thanks for the advice. I'll put in an order!

I have the same problem and I really want to revive them. I can't get those varieties again.
