Nice looking setup and seedlings! IIRC, you're trying to sell plants this year?

pmcgrady February 6, 2018 04:43 PM

Wow! Looking good!
It was down to 0 here a couple nights ago, another 3-4 weeks before I start any.
The only thing I have growing is a tray of chives, garlic chives and leeks.

Rajun Gardener February 6, 2018 04:48 PM

That's right, I hope some sell because I can't grow all those. Well maybe if I make the garden bigger. LOL!

pmcgrady February 6, 2018 04:49 PM

I see you have some of the creole's growing, I'm going try both of them this year, Thanks!

Good luck with your venture into the selling business!

It's more of a test run/learning season. I already go to a few farmers markets so I thought I might as will sell a few.

Those are the 2016 seeds. I noticed they grew shorter and a little more stockier than all the other types that I started.

Very nice! Welp, you've fell into the rabbit hole. Good luck and enjoy the ride. Please do keep us updated on how your plants do as I am always looking for more varieties that like growing in tomato hell.

For me saved seeds always do better

Looking great! What is your potting up mix?

rhines81 February 6, 2018 08:54 PM

Looks like you know what you are doing! Carry on!

It's funny you mentioned rabbit hole cuz this year I'm using the rabbit ju ju in the garden and containers for my Superhot peppers. Can't wait to try these new peppers. Big Mustard Mamma, Primo's 7 Pot, Fatalii, Trinidad Moruga Scorpions, Gengkis Khan Brain and a few others. I also have my cross I'm calling Mardi Gras. They have a purple stem and the peppers go from green to purple to gold or peach, you decide the color but it's close enough for me.

This year I bought some Lucky Dawg K-9 cubes cheap from Wally World but I noticed after transplanting 1 flat it's too light of a mix so I'm adding baccto about 70/30. The K-9 has big chunks of perlite and the baccto has sticks/stems so I had to sift it. I won't use baccto again, it has too much junk in it.

BigVanVader February 6, 2018 10:14 PM

Nice! 7 pot primo was really great. Mine had a very good, almost floral taste. I hope my plant makes it through the winter but I'm skeptical as it seems dead. Either way I'm growing more.

Rajun Gardener February 6, 2018 10:20 PM

The Trinidad was floral and citrussy if that makes sense, It's hot but has a good up front flavor. PM you addy and I'll send you some seeds to brighten your pallet.
