Insect identification on squash
Can anyone help me identify this insect? It resembles an Asian ladybug, but since it is munching on a squash leaf, I suspect it is something else entirely.

This it?

Yep, what JamesL said. Mexican bean beetle is your foe.

Dang, squished one on a tomato yesterday. Wonder if that's why my bean seedlings look so sad?
The cowpeas look fine, though. |

Aphids plants and all as you know by my past posts are death by fire at my house. Only two times have I had them in 10 years. My hard core blitzkrieg(lightning war) eradication plan works.8-) I patrol my yard every day for these things. If I see them kerosine and fire is in order plant parts and all. Worth |
Yes, I have a squash beetle it would seem. Thanks!

A light dusting of Sevin dust or a spray of Sevin very late in the evening will take care of them for a while if it doesn't rain.
