2019 Tomato and Garden Pictures

It’s been a crazy winter on this end and haven’t made it over here as much as usual. But the 2019 garden is starting to take shape and that’s got me visiting more again recently. Replacing my “rabbit guard” fence that didn’t work on baby bunnies with 1/2” mesh hardware cloth. Cool season stuff is in the cold frame and microdwarf-ish tomatoes that were started in January are flowering! They’ll live by the patio door and are starting to get some days outside now. More pics and grow lists as the year comes along.

Nice! Looks like lettuce, onions, cole crops in the cold frame?

Looks good, keep it up

Thanks!

2019 tomato grow list is final (as all seeds have been sown). Growing a number of my cross F2 plants this year, which made for some very tough choices on what to grow and what not to grow.

Black Krim
Sungold F1
Hoy
Brandywine Sudduth
Lemmonny
KARMA Peach
KARMA Purple MF
Green Bee F1
Girl Girl's Weird Thing
Spike
Tastywine
Lime Green Salad
Wisconsin 55
Neves Azorean Red

My cross:
CYxJF F1
CYxJF F2 (saved from plant 1)
CYxJF F2 (saved from plant 2)

Dwarf Project:
Teensy Chocolate
Teensy Yellow
Teensy Pink
Teensy Purple
Emmy Pink

Already flowering are some microdwarf-ish plants, they are F3, to varying degrees of multiflora in nature. They have bouncing between inside and outside with the weather, hopefully much more out than in now that we're getting to mid April.

Garden is growing slowly but surely and healthy! Heat coming will accelerate that. Pea harvest is about to be gang busters. Happy gardening!

Looks lovely, and interesting grow list, especially the crosses and F2s. I've only grown Sungold from that list, but this forum has inspired me to make my own crosses this year. I wish I had that much outdoor growing space, it would look a lot messier than your garden if I did though lol.

The marigolds in the cinder blocks are a nice touch btw.

Oh, I saw that nice rich black earth and I thought . . . that reminds me of WI! We spent 15 years in Milwaukee, Mequon and Waukesha County. Great topsoil and great gardens.

I think doing crosses needs to be next on my list of things to try.

Thanks guys. It's been a cool (but getting hot now) year so far, but not terribly wet. Great plant health as a result.

I do like the marigolds, I grow the dwarf ones that stay 6-8" tall and also do some herbs that rabbits won't eat in the block holes too.
