King of the Field tomato seed?
Has anyone heard or grew " King of the Field"?
|
Happy Martin Luther King Day. Amen!!
I never heard of them. Do you have a Picture? |
I just have a plastic bag with seeds.

Now you have my curiosity piqued! Extensive googling turns up nothing. To me, the name has the ring of an old commercial variety, like Livingston or such. Maybe contact Victory Seed if no one here has info? Also could try translating "King of the Field" to various languages and searching on the translation. I tried Russian but didn't find anything in a quick search. Please post any info you find.

A tomato called "Field King" is listed in group of genotypes in a table on p.3 of this 1998 research article about genetic divergence in tomatoes. No info about it, though, and of course Field King might not be the same tomato as King of the Field. Link goes directly to a PDF download:
