Hey Bluekat and all,

Mine have sprouted under lights and I have bunches "Winter sown" in milk bottles outside. My list so far is:

New Ones:

Yellow Cookie
Orange One
Vesha
Marilyn's Cherry
Kit's Find
Prue X Marianna's Peace
Green Grape
Dr. Lyle (white blossom)
Sophie's Choice
Anna Russian
Kosovo

Old Favorites

Earl's Faux
Kellogg's Breakfast
Black Cherry (if I can get my dambed seed to sprout!)
Sungold
Cherokee Purple
Cherokee Green
Marianna's Peace
Prue

And others that I can't remember!

I am suprised looking at the list and noticing that there are more new then old. I think thats good because I hope that our band of brethren doesn't start all growing the same thing :)

My elderly neighbor recently had surgery and is still unable to do a lot of stuff at home. As such...he told me to start whatever varities I wanted for him to put in his garden. As such, I hope to add the following:

Tony's Plum (local heirloom)
Drubza
New Big Dward
Polish C
Grandpa Willie
Break O Day
Chianti Rose
Van Wert Ohio
Portugese Monster

Sorry I haven't been on the ball about MAGTAG - I joined Weight Watchers a couple of months ago (lost 15 lbs so far!) and have been kind of preoccupied with that lately. But the little tomato plants growing under lights in my basement are calling to me!

The Bel Air (MD) Barbecue Bash is scheduled for August 11, and DH will divorce me if I don't go to it with him this year (which means MAGTAG would be short one grillmeister - and how am I supposed to work BBQ into my diet anyway?). So I am thinking of scheduling MAGTAG for either August 18 or 25. I will start a new thread for voting - I definitely need to get off my a$$ and reserve the pavilion soon!

P.S. For those of you attending the Gardenweb Spring Swap on May 5, I will have some (mostly heirloom) tomato seedlings to give away.
P.P.S. Greg F, for some reason NONE of your black cherry seeds germinated for me!

gflynn March 26, 2007 11:22 AM

Cecilia,

None of the Black Cherry Seeds sprouted for me either! The whole damb batch is sterile. Sorry to everyone. It was quite a suprise.

I have sent out a request for them so I am expecting that I will have some Black Cherry by August. (and maybe some new sterile seed :D )

My Taxi didn't sprout either. I wonder if bagging blossoms is part of the problem.

But hey, you said you liked Cherokee Green. Want some seed? I know those will come up.

Tom:

Not to worry...TYW is on the list...thought I left it off...but it is on my first post. I just got the seeds in this week...should be coming up today or tomorrow. I decided to go with a staggered planting this year. Everything seemed to rippen or die off at the same time last year.

Tom...you could alsways may MAGTAG your bachelor's party :D

I am happy to say that I got a big, beautiful Black Cherry plant from Annebert at the GW Spring Swap on Saturday, along with an equally impressive Cherokee Green. Somebody else (unfortunately I didn't catch her name) gave me a couple of Marianna's Peace seedlings. So I hope to have these two varieties for tasting at MAGTAG, along with:

Stupice
Sungold
Neves Azorean Red
Milka's Red Bulgarian
Olena Ukrainian
Noir de Crimee

Yes, they're the same ones everybody else is growing, but they TASTE SO GOOD!

I might also plant one or two other varieties. None of my yellows/whites germinated (except Sungold), so I may need to hunt down some plants from the local nursery.
