GH updates 2016-7

I built this from scraps

then installed a dutch bucket hydro system and threw in a few plants

1 week later the plants are starting to get accustomed to the hydro grow

and now, the plants are growing nice but I did change out the nutes, I think the 50lb bag of CalNit I bought a while back is weaker than Southern Ag

I know it's hard to see but all 5 seeds I started of Mat-Su from Cole has sprouted in 4 days, I didn't use a heat mat and the temps in the house has been 68-72. I just used a fresh bag of MG moisture control/3 months feeding potting soil.

I am jealous. I was hoping today that the snow would finish sliding off of my greenhouses. LOL
Lookin good, us northerners can live through you for a few months, keep us posted.

Rajun Gardener December 6, 2016 10:12 PM

I will keep posted pics up for you to see what's happening.

Jimbotomateo December 6, 2016 10:22 PM

Your scraps gh looks awesome! Jimbo.

Salsacharley December 7, 2016 10:24 AM

This is really nice. I agree that your scraps are pretty darn nice. What are you going to do when those plants become gigantic? You've got some that really get big.

Rajun Gardener December 7, 2016 10:48 AM

I'll keep them pruned to single stem and start dropping the plant as it grows. I have almost 6' before I need to start dropping them.

We had a bone chilling cold front come through and it got down to 37 last night.;) I had 2 small heaters set at 52-54 and they worked perfect. I'm glad we don't have many freezing nights. The tomatoes came out fine and some are flowering today.

Rajun Gardener December 9, 2016 05:42 PM

And Cole's Mat-Su are standing tall.

A volunteer growing in a potted rose I bought on clearance a while back, no clue where the seed came
from or what it is but it wants to grow

Awesome Rajun! To think you made that tight, as the kids say, gh out of scraps is cool! Can you PM me if nephew has any of those railroad spike knives available. Thanks Jimbo.

Rajun Gardener December 17, 2016 07:34 PM
