Sweet! What type? When did you put it out? My first are going to be sun gold or black cherry, but, no color is showing yet.

It's a Celebrity; my heirlooms are running quite a bit behind it. I purchased it as a large plant and coddled it to get some early tomatoes... :)

Dude, you shouldn't have said that. Now you'll be shunned by all the anti-Celebrity people! Just kidding.

Dewayne, what kind of tomato is that in your avatar picture?

That is an Indian Stripe. While our Texas heat means that production stops all too early, the tomatoes we get are seriously concentrated and ripe with rich flavors.

Attached is a Sun Gold pic of this year's first tomatoes. If you look closely, you'll see some some of the damage to the stems that happened in a hail storm about 3 weeks ago. I guess those scars are going to be a season long reminder, but, at least it didn't kill the plants.

I'm dropping my later 'maters into raised beds from pots today; Cherokee Green, Black Krim, Marianna's Peace, Coustralee and several cherry varieties. I have 36 moonflowers in pots also; I need to get them in the ground before they eat my chihuahua... On second thought...:x

Finally the wait is over, I picked three today right around lunch - decided to dress up the sandwich with the color red.
