Lime Green Growth

2 Attachment(s)
Hi,

Getting some weird lime green growth on my tomato plants. I've been growing tomato's for 20 years and have never seen this type of coloring before. Plants all look healthy except for the lime green growth. The lime green discoloration all appears to be around the base or cluster of leaves. Not at the tips. I did spray with Serenade about a week about as a preventative measure. I've used Serenade in the past with no issues. Any help is much appreciated.

Thanks!

I wonder what was in your sprayer before you added the Serenade? I hope to goodness it wasn't Roundup!

I don't know what it is but I had the same thing on one of my seedlings before I planted it outside. I did not spray with anything.

The leaves are all normal green now.

Thats what I am starting to think....but its been a year since I used the sprayer. Last time I remember using it I used Serenade as well. Not all of the plants have it....only a couple. Its strange.

Maybe it's just the cold doing strange things, and they will recover.

This is a basic deficiently guide. (nothing is 100%)
And the link for image credit with further information.

Does look to me like an unbalance in a nutrient deficient issue. Minor issues seem to
correct themselves on their own with feeding. Even half-strength as I tend to do.

Could be iron deficiency chlorosis (which is usually due to soil pH issues) but this kind of chlorosis is also characteristic of glyphosate/Roundup injury.

ginger2778 June 4, 2019 03:49 PM

I think its an iron deficiency.

motheralb June 4, 2019 04:06 PM

Im thinking you both are right....Iron. Any quick remedies?

I vote roundup. Doubt iron chlorosis would show on just a couple plants.
