Cherry Brandywine

I have never grown Cherry Brandywine. I really like the idea of having a Brandywine-like tomato but smaller.

I'm thinking of trying them this season.

I think that there is a few different types of Cherry Brandywine.

Just wondering if anyone grew any of the different types of Cherry Brandywine and if they liked them or not. And if they can reccommend a good seed source.

Thanks

Jim

I have 3 varieties that are cherry versions of Brandywine. All look about the same - a mini flattened beefsteak about large cherry sized. But flavor is all over. My personal fav is Brandysweet Plum. Next is Brandywine Cherry. And then there is Grinpante x Brandywine. I didn't care for the flavor of that 1 at all. But I do have all 3 listed on my web site.

If it is a cherry it is not really a Brandywine.

We have a new variety called "Pink CherryWine" which alludes to the green shoulders, which give it an heirloom look.

Like others, we are using "Brandywine" to say "This tomato has a big tomato flavor and/or look"

We are not claiming that it is a variant of a Brandywine.

Fred,

the varieties I have are crosses with Brandywine that are smaller. Not exactly cherries, but not more than 2 bites and were bred to have the Brandywine flavor. I didn't make any of the crosses. I just got them in trades here at Tomatoville. I don't even remember who I got them from any more. And why the best flavored 1 is called "plum" is a mystery to me as it isn't plum shaped at all but is like a mini flattened beef.
