Desperately seeking Romeo (the giant paste tomato) 😄

Hi all! This is also my intro post; I am in southeastern Nebraska and have been growing tomatoes for about 30 years. In recent years I also started producing tomato starts of unusual varieties for friends, and finally started selling them since growing 200+ starts a year is a lot of work!

I made a big error last year since I did not realize that Peters Seed and Research had disbanded. I planted the last of my Romeo seeds (indeterminate giant Roma non-hybrid) and did not save seeds. I have searched seed sources in the U.S. for weeks, and only found the seed in Canada, but the producer does not ship to the U.S.

Does anyone have some seeds saved that would be willing to trade? From Peters Seed I have Golden Treasure and Ruby Treasure, which are supposed to be long-keeping storage varieties suitable for keeping one in fresh-ish tomatoes up through February. I also have a several dozen other seed varieties; once I figure out Tomatoville I will put a list somewhere!

I had never heard of Romeo so I looked it up and found this seller. If no one here has it, maybe this will help you. I am thinking about ordering some to try too

We have several Russian varieties with giant Roma type fruit here. I'm trialing one of them Krovavaya Mary (Bloody Mary in English) this year from Gavrish seed company. Midseason, indet. RL with very long 40-45 cm leaf, 200-400 g fruit.

I have a packet of Romeo seeds from 2018 from Dale Thurber over at Delectation of Tomatoes -- If they're not too old, DM your address and a list whichever seeds you're willing to trade.

Again we miss Remy and her Sample Seed Shop as she sold Romeo seeds. I bought Romeo seeds from her grew it as my mainstay roma, and actually thought her Maria (roma) was more productive and less blossom end rot for me. I now grow Amish Paste every year as I don't get BER with AP and the taste is much better, although they are more juicy.
