They love the grape leaves. If left unchecked, they will eat all the foliage and you will have a naked grape vine. I've never seen them bother the fruit though.
Our neighborhood really got bad with them about 4-5 years ago.
My neighbor and I have sprayed the last couple of years and it has really controlled them.
Plus, we have a neighbor a few houses down that puts out beetle traps(actually brings more beetles to your property) and I think it has taken quite a few away from me and brought them down to him. Beetles haven't been as bad the last few years.

My leaves were in pretty good shape this year.
There were times in the past you would pass the grapes and they would be completely covered in beetles and you would have to act fast. Now after battling them for several years, you can simply pick the few off and stomp on them.
