Marina,

You can plant them out and they should bloom for you, even in your climate. In the winter you will probably want to dig the "bulbs" and store them in a cool spot indoors. I sent my mother (in Montana) some roots last year and they did great. She mulched them heavily before the ground froze and they survived a Montana winter! Although, they are not supposed to survive in her climate.
